Hoarseness in children
(Hoarseness in toddlers, Hoarseness in babies)
In children, a scratchy voice is usually due to an infection like common cold. Since their immune system is still developing, they are more susceptible to infections. Talking a lot, singing, or shouting loudly can also cause hoarseness.
The hoarseness usually goes away on its own after a few days. The primary treatment recommendation is voice rest and inhalation of, for example, saline solution. However, if the hoarseness persists, it is advisable to consult a specialist in phoniatrics for an examination.
If the hoarseness has been present since birth, it is important to have it evaluated by a specialist with sufficient experience in this area. Dr. Nasr can also examine babies and toddlers using modern technology. The examination is conducted with a great deal of sensitivity and comfort.
Testimonial: Pediatric Examination (Phoniatrics and Pediatric Audiology)
We took our 5-year-old daughter to see him, and we are glad we went there. From the first moment, you can sense his enthusiasm and expertise in his field, and at the same time, you feel that your concerns are taken seriously. His relaxed manner quickly established a connection with our daughter. He explains everything very well during the examinations, and we were able to follow and understand everything on the monitors ourselves. I also find it remarkable that he noticeably collaborates and consults with colleagues in his own and other clinics, in order to determine the best and least invasive procedure for the patient (which is particularly important for young patients). We are glad we saw him because he discovered things that other doctors had not uncovered before. Now we are richer in knowledge. Thank you very much! (Enthusiastic, competent, respectful, child-friendly).

I had an appointment with my little son and was surprised by Dr. Nasr's positive demeanor. He explained everything to us very well, interacted wonderfully with my son, and provided excellent clarification about the treatment and procedure. We felt very taken seriously. Questions were welcome at any time. (Competent and child-friendly • Age: not specified • Insurance: not specified)
